Beautification Day 2016

THANK YOU MILFORD!

Nearly 200 Milford residents—kids, teens, adults, families, veterans, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups, town officials, and state officials—joined the volunteers of Citizens for Milford, the Milford Farmers Market, and the Friends of the Upper Milford Charles Trail to pick up all kinds of trash on our streets, parks, bike trail, and municipal parking lots in a massive collaborative effort to help beautify Milford on Saturday, April 30th, 2016, as part of Milford Beautification Day.  Hundreds of bags of litter were collected, along with numerous TVs, tires, and other large items.

Volunteers from Citizens for Milford, the Milford Farmers Market, Friends of the Upper Charles Trail, Milford Town Hall (Selectmen Bill Buckley, Brian Murray, and Will Kingkade and Town Administrator Rick Villani), State Senator Ryan Fattman, and State Representative John Fernandes (not pictured)  were among the nearly 200 citizens who helped beautify Milford.

Beautification Day SMALL flyer 2016 REVISEDOn April 28 and 29, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department Community Service Program sent work crews to volunteer as our Beautification Day “advance teams” to pick up trash along some of Milford’s busier roads. Their efforts are clearly visible on Route 85, Route 140 from the hospital to the court house, Purchase Street, Asylum Street, and other areas around town. We are grateful for their commitment and hard work.

We also extend our sincerest gratitude to the Milford Board of Health and the Milford Highway Department for their support and assistance, to Republic Services for their supply donations, and to Dunkin Donuts for the coffee donation.
